Let's begin here...

I'm Sara.

Thank you for taking the time to be here.

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision.  It matters who you choose because the relationship itself is one of the most important parts of therapy.

I hope by the end of this page,  you'll not only have a sense of how I work, but who you'd be sitting opposite.

A little about me...

One of the biggest things I've learnt—both personally and professionally—is that lasting change rarely comes from trying harder.

It comes from slowing down.  From becoming curious instead of critical.
From understanding the experiences that have shaped us and the ways we've learnt to cope.

That's why I don't spend my time looking for what's 'wrong' with people.  I'm far more interested in understanding the story beneath what's happening.

Because people make sense.
That belief sits quietly beneath everything I do.

Why Papillon?

People often ask why I chose the name Papillon.  For me, the butterfly has never been about becoming somebody new.  It's about becoming more fully yourself.

I don't believe therapy is about fixing you.  I believe it's about gently uncovering the parts of ourselves that have always been there—beneath old patterns, painful experiences, and the ways we've learnt to protect ourselves.

That's what Papillon means to me.

And it's at the heart of how I work.

What therapy with me feels like...

Every therapeutic relationship is different.

If I had to describe what I hope you'll experience, it would be this:

Curiosity instead of judgement.

Compassion instead of criticism.

Gentle challenge when you're ready.

Space to laugh.

Space to cry.

Space to make sense.

If we were having a coffee...

I'd probably begin by asking what brought you to therapy.

Not because I need every detail of your story.
But because I know how much courage it takes to sit down with someone you've never met and talk about the things that matter.

I wouldn't be listening for what's wrong with you.

I'd be listening for what makes sense.

Together, we'd gently get to the core of what's been happening beneath the surface—not to judge it, but to understand it.

Because when something begins to make sense, change often follows.

And before we finish our coffee...

If there's one thing I'd love you to take away from this page, it's this.

You don't need certainty before reaching out.
You don't need the perfect words.
You don't need everything figured out.
You simply need to arrive as you are.
We'll make sense of the rest together.

And if, somewhere along the way, you've found yourself thinking,

'I think she'd understand...'

I'd love to meet you.

Whenever you're ready, I'd love to hear your story.

Sara's warm compassion, empathy, as well as skill as a therapist, has allowed me to revisit some really challenging experiences from my past.  I was able to emerge with a greater sense of freedom, peace and serenity.
