Trauma & Difficult Experiences

When the past still lives in the present...

Some experiences leave visible scars.

Others don't.

Perhaps you've spent years telling yourself it wasn't that bad.
That other people had it worse.  That you should have moved on by now.

And yet, something still doesn't feel quite right.

You find yourself reacting in ways you don't fully understand.
Feeling anxious.  Shutting down.  Pushing people away. Clinging too tightly.  Always expecting something to go wrong.
Or carrying a feeling that you're somehow 'too much'... or never quite enough.

Sometimes it's what happened.

Sometimes it's what didn't happen.

The comfort you needed.  The reassurance you longed for.

The safety you deserved.

Whatever your story, the way you feel makes sense.

It might show  up as...

• Feeling constantly on edge, even when life seems okay.
• Finding it difficult to trust people.
• Becoming overwhelmed by conflict or criticism.
Feeling responsible for everyone else's happiness.
• Struggling to believe you're enough.
• Putting other people's needs before your own.
Shutting down or withdrawing when things feel difficult.
• Repeating the same painful relationship patterns.
• Feeling disconnected from yourself or your emotions.

Explore what feels most like your experience.

Your mind and body have been trying to protect you.

The ways you've learnt to cope once made sense.

Perhaps they helped you survive.

Perhaps they helped you feel safe.

Perhaps they helped you feel accepted.

But what once protected you may now be keeping you stuck.

Together, we'll gently make sense of your experiences—not to blame the past, but to understand how it's still influencing the present.

As you begin to understand yourself differently, many people begin to feel something they haven't felt for a long time:

Safer.  Calmer.  More connected to yourself.

Your story doesn't end here...

The past may always be part of your story.

But it doesn't have to define the rest of it.

Healing isn't about forgetting what happened.
It's about no longer living as though you're still there.

Over time, many people begin to trust themselves more, build healthier relationships, and experience a greater sense of safety, freedom and connection.
